Atlantic Broadband Deploys Clearleap Platform
IP-Based Infrastructure Enhances OnDemand Content Offerings and Revenue Opportunities

Atlanta, GA and Quincy, MA – June 30, 2009 – Atlantic Broadband, the 15th largest cable provider in the U.S., and Clearleap, an Internet based TV technology platform, announced deployment of clear|flow, a next-generation content acquisition, delivery, management, and distribution system.  The deal brings the power and flexibility of the Internet directly into the Atlantic Broadband Video On Demand and Digital TV infrastructure and will enable the service provider to expand VOD offerings, increase efficiencies in workflow, and leverage the clear|profit ad platform to quickly insert ads into on-demand programming.

Atlantic Broadband deployed the clear|flow platform earlier this month to power its new Local On Demand offering and to add cutting edge made-for-web video content to its programming  slate.  In addition, ABB will be able to use the clear|flow platform to program customized linear channels.  Among the variety of programming available on the clear|flow platform, Atlantic Broadband has already launched content from web video pioneers Revision3 and Next New Networks and will roll out additional programming options in the coming weeks.

"We’ve been looking for an easy way to add local programming to our On Demand offering for some time now.  Clearleap’s easy to use web UI,  with its  built-in workflow controls, and the ability to cross promote and sell sponsorships  using their ad insertion tools, was  an irresistible combination," said David Isenberg, Atlantic Broadband Vice President of Products.  "Clearleap’s ability to bring Internet video to our On Demand service was another important driver of our decision.  This wasn’t just an innovative way to expand our capabilities, it was a practical solution."

Clearleap has signed 5 cable and IPTV operators in multiple markets since the technology platform went live in late 2008.  This deal brings the total number of Clearleap markets under contract  to 16, including greater Charlotte and suburban Atlanta.

"MSOs are realizing that integrating web technologies into their television services isn’t some far off product development goal with huge hurdles to launch - this is happening now and is much easier to implement than most assume" said Clearleap CEO, Braxton Jarratt. "Not only do our customers see immediate value in operational savings and an increase in fresh content offerings over night, but they also open the door to a more powerful and personal consumer experience."
